BACK IN THE DRIVING SEAT...
After an incredibly busy year of working almost exclusively for the Royal Air Force Tim has returned to the familiar role of presenting and writing motoring features.
Delivering content and articles for a range of free-lance clients has seen him back behind the wheel of the latest models and you’ll soon be able to find a selection of his latest witty reviews right here in the ‘Cars’ section.
The past couple of months have seen the arrival of brand new models from Toyota, DS, Dacia and Range Rover but for many of you it will be reviews of cars like the Ford Mustang, the Aston Martin Vantage and Porche’s new 911 Carrera S that will make the best read.
There’s currently talk of two brand new TV shows and the revival of a couple of Tim’s favourite programme strands too but Shhh, keep it under your hat. More to follow on that.
Running alongside Tim’s TV work, the RAF continues to call upon his skills for a range of assignments and although things aren’t quite as manic as they were in 2018, he’s still constantly on the move.
Therefore it really is still a case of Planes, Trains & Motoring Madness.
THE LATEST CHECK-IN FROM TIM
Last year was an exceptional honour. I travelled extensively for the RAF, telling the stories of some of the bravest, most exceptional people in the world and I was there at Buckingham Palace as we performed the biggest flypast in history for Her Majesty. SEE MY PREVIOUS NEWS HERE
It was such an incredible experience that by the end of it all I’d forgotten that I had my TV work to go back to!
These are exciting times and I’m currently looking at a number of projects that could turn out to be amazing TV. In the mean-time I am busy, busy, busy with my latest series of motoring features and car tests.
I’m also back on the trail of celebrity interviews and covering some incredible destinations for my new travel column.
CHALLENGES
Over the past few weeks I’ve had the pleasure of driving the Aston Vantage, Ford’s bad boy – the Mustang V8 and the new 911 Carrera S from Porsche so there have been a few stand-out moments. It was the challenge that I was set last week however that stopped me in my tracks…
‘Too many fast cars and not enough motorhome reviews’, that was the feedback that I received from one vocal reader…
Wait, what?
Firstly, is it possible to have too many supercar features?
And secondly, what in the name of Satan’s left nipple ring do I know about motorhomes?
I can wax lyrical about an Aston, a Lotus or a Ferrari but when it comes to motorhomes I’m completely out of my depth.
Therefore this challenge for the RAF News’ motoring section is bound to provide a giggle or two.
Keep an eye out for that one!
